Nassau County Police Commissioner Lawrence W. Mulvey would like to remind county residents that water safety is something that all parents should be aware of. Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury related death among children ages 1 - 14. It can happen very quickly and in less than 1 inch (2.5 centimeters) of water, so filled bathtubs, swimming pools, wading pools, hot tubs, and even buckets of water and sinks can be dangerous. |

Let it be clear, residents of the surrounding communities embrace economic development, but one that is sound for its youth and suburban quality of life. Over ambitious plans pose a risk in causing a great divide as well as delays and perhaps even the lack of much needed development. There is nothing wrong in developing smartly, and slowly with the support of all surrounding communities, something that everyone can live with. |

The Accountability and Overview Report provides enrollments, average class size, demographic factors, attendance and suspensions, teacher qualifications, and staff counts. It also provides accountability results by accountability measure and performance on accountability measures. Accountability measures at the elementary/middle level are English language arts, mathematics, and science; at the secondary level, they are English language arts, mathematics, and graduation rate. |

Last Saturday, April 18, 2009, residents adjacent to Belmont Park had a horrific night. It went beyond the shooting on Hempstead Turnpike by Wellington Road, but another issue that was rampant across Locustwood, a residential, single-family home neighborhood adjacent to the track. |
