I am informed by Stop Predatory Gambling and by several other sources that 60 Minutes is producing an important segment about predatory gambling in America. Casinos and lotteries are the most predatory businesses in America today. Our state and local governments are full partners in these enterprises, and their lucrative windfall is coming at the expense of every taxpayer in the country.

This Saturday is Patriots' Day. Sadly, some of us are more concerned about politics, drama, controversy or the start of the football season. We must not forget all those who had perished on that tragic day. We must not forget to support those who lost loved ones. We must continue to honor the men and woman who serve(d) our nation to defend our democracy. Patriots' Day is about being proud of being an American, proudly displaying the Stars and Stripes. We will never forget. |
